Creating Characters
1. To create a character, you must first read the rules! 2. The Become board requires a 14 character password; you’ll have to read ALL the rules to find it. The first letter of the password is ‘w’. We recommend writing the password down as you go, it’s randomized. Make sure you read the rules regularly, the password will change. 3. Once you have read the rules and written down the password, you can then fill out a profile for your character. 4. Before you choose a name for your character, please check the character list to check that that name has not been taken already. If it has, your application will be denied by a staff member and you will have to change the name before you can play it. 5. Characters are either Good, Neutral or Evil. This alignment is based on their personality, and can affect what Powers are available to them. Read the Powers section to learn more. 6. Only timber/grey wolves are permitted in White Wolf Mountain. There are no exceptions. 7. When creating your wolf’s appearance, please remember the following:
a. Wolves may have any coat colour. b. Wolves cannot have wings or other extra appendages. They may however have deformities or battle scars etc. c. Characters cannot have jewellery, piercing or other accessories that are human-made.
8. Characters that are included in large or complicated plots must be approved by a staff member. If you write a profile for what we consider to be a “special character”, please send it in a PM to a staff member. We will then assess the profile and reply with our verdict shortly. If you post a character that could be considered by a staff member to be a “special character”, a staff member may as you to refrain from playing it until the other staff members have approved it. 9. Follow the following when writing your profile:
a. Copy and paste the form in the Become board into a new thread. b. Name the thread with the name of the wolf you are creating. c. Only put one profile in each thread. The second letter of the password is ‘s’. You must create a new thread for each character. d. Always use the form provided. No not change the fields; this isn’t a “creativity” contest. It’s also appreciated if you use “female/male” and “Good/Neutral/Evil” for the gender and side fields, it makes administration easier. e. Do not add formatting to the profile. The profile should be left-aligned, default colour and size. You may however bold the field titles.
10. Once you have posted your profile, you are free to play the character. The third letter of the password is ‘o’. A staff member will add your character to the character list shortly afterward. The profile will be commented on if there is a problem. 11. Remember to post new profiles for pups born as well as characters you adopt from other players. Read the “Breeding and Pups” and “Adoption” sections for more info. 12. You can have as many characters as you like, so long as you keep them active once they are in a thread. You can always keep them in “limbo” if you have no muse for them. 13. Please refrain from commenting on other profiles if you are not staff. Due to the nature of the administration process, it can be confusing to the staff if a previously approved profile is “BUMPed” to the top of the list. 14. You may post a thread in the “Location/Vacation” board that lists all your characters and their stats. You can do what ever you like to these profiles, prettify them in anyway you care to do so.

General
1. There is no “liquid time” at White Wolf Mountain. Your character cannot be in more than one thread at any one time. Only Alphas may be in multiple border posts when they are accepting new wolves. They cannot be in multiple threads outside of the pack borders. 2. You may leave a thread to join another if the first is inactive for two weeks but you must leave the second thread if you wish to continue the first thread should it become active again. 3. There is no “Power Playing” at White Wolf Mountain. This is explained in more detail later in the “Fighting” section. For less violent actions just as playful pouncing or pushing, minor Power Play is allowed. 4. If you see a post that could be deemed excessive in Power Play, please inform a staff member. The forth letter of the password is ‘x’. 5. You should try to use good grammar/spelling in your posts. Abbreviations outside of speech and l33t speak is not recommended. 6. WWM is an all-level RPG, so more advanced players must be prepared to play with less experienced players. There is no minimum limit to posts, but the thread’s creator may specify details such as minimum post length in an OOC tag in the first post. Eg: “OOC: Please, no one-liners. One paragraph minimum.” 7. You may start a private thread if you do not wish other characters to intrude. Just put the name of the wolf or players allowed in brackets in the thread title. 8. Please keep OOC comments to a minimum in the play boards. Details of plots etc can be worked out in the OOC board or via PM.

Humans and other Non-Player Characters (NPCs)
1. There are no humans living in or near the White Wolf Mountains. You may never play them as NPCs in your posts. You will receive a warning if you do so. 2. In narrative, you may play native NPC animals in your posts (except for the Hunting Plains – explained later in the “Hunting” section. These include:
o Bears o Moose o Elk/Red Deer o Birds o Fish o Insects o Other North-American animals
3. You may hunt small prey outside of the Hunting Plains. For pack hunts, you must play in the Hunting Plains.

Packs
1. There are nine territories in the valley of White Wolf Mountain. There are three for each alignment. The third land in each category is un-claimable and is for loners to live in. 2. To join a pack, your character must howl at the borders of the pack it wants to join and wait for the alpha to respond. 3. It is the alpha’s choice to accept the wolf, and may provide certain conditions. 4. Your wolf will be given a rank by the alpha, usually subordinate. 5. To gain rank, you must earn it or fight for it. The fifth letter in the password is ‘d’. 6. To take over a territory, you must first gather a pack outside of the territory and then challenge the existing pack. Diplomacy or fighting are the two main ways to win. 7. Each of the territories has a number over a second number in their description. Eg: (28/40). The first number is the amont of wolves in that pack. The second is how many wolves will fit. 8. If the pack becomes full, the alpha mustut bargin or fight for more space from another pack. The number is determined by the challenger, and can be haggled by the challenged. Alphas cannot challenge a pack that has 5 spaces or less. No more wolves can join a pack if it is full. 9. If pups are born while a pack is full, more space MUST be gained before they become adults or they must leave the pack. 10. An alpha can evict a member of the pack at any time for any reason.

Healing
1. If your wolf is injured in battle or hunting, it can be healed. 2. The wolf must go to “White Magic’s Cave” or send a messenger there. 3. There is only one healing wolf; White Magic. She can only answer one call at a time, so please be patient. 4. When posting in her cave, you must give a list of the wolf’s injuries so she knows what she has to do. 5. She cannot heal everything. Your wolf may still need recovery time. 6. White Magic does not appreciate carelessness, and may even refuse to treat some injuries.

Powers
1. Powers are given out by the White Wolves. 2. To get a Power, you must request it from one of the White Wolves. 3. You must start a new thread in the “White Wolves” board with your character’s name and the White Wolf they are asking for as the thread title.
o Taboo is the White Wolf for the Good wolves o Sheba is the White Wolf for the Neutral wolves o Gypsy is the White Wolf for the Evil wolves
4. To see a list of Powers, read the “Power List” in the White Wolves board. 5. The White Wolves may or may not give your character a Power, and they may ask for something in return. 6. All Powers are given out as level one; you will be informed with a PM if your character’s level increases. 7. Once you have a Power, your wolf will acquire a “tattoo” or marking. You can see descriptions of these in the Power List. It is up to you where on the wolf this marking appears. The sixth letter in the password is ‘m’. The marking glows when the Power is used. 8. Remember, using a Power too much will tire your wolf, and this applies more so to the lower level Powers. 9. The extents of the Power’s limits are described in the Power List. 10. When using your Power against another wolf, it is considered Power Playing. You must follow the rules of fighting when doing this.

Seasons
1. The weather is displayed at the top of the main page. This is however a guideline, you may vary the weather in your posts to some extent. However snow in summer and tropical winters are discouraged. 2. There are four White Wolves that represent each of the seasons:
o Spring o Summer o Fall o Winter
3. The staffs play these characters and they may appear in your threads. At the moment, they are young after only being born last game year. However they will grow. 4. More details to come as the plot develops…

Hunting
1. You may hunt small prey such as fish, rabbits, and small rodents in any board without a moderator. For larger prey, pack hunts or just a bit of a challenge, post in the “Hunting Plains”. 2. To hunt in the Hunting Plains, follow these steps:
a. Start a new thread, introducing the number of characters there and the time of day. b. A moderator will then post a reply, detailing the species and number of individuals present. c. Choose your prey, and either sneak closer to see if there are any weaknesses not yet described, or attempt an attack. d. You cannot say if you have caught the animal, you may only attempt an attack. e. A mod will then reply with more detail about the chosen prey or with an outcome to your attack. You can then respond to this. f. Your hunt may be ignored if you post out of order. Always wait for a mod to post after each character in the thread has replied. g. If you are still unsure how to hunt, read other posts and use them as an example.
3. During a hunt, your character may be injured. It is best to take heed of these injuries, as they may get worse if you ignore them. The seventh letter in the password is ‘g’. A staff member will tell you if you become injured. 4. Be reasonable when choosing prey. One wolf after a grown deer will not succeed. Dangerous prey may fight back. 5. Not all hunts are successful. If you fail, leave the area and start a new thread. Moderators will not look at your topic once a hunt has failed.

Fighting
1. If your wolf is challenged to a fight, first you must post in the “Pinboard” board. Post the names of the wolves in the fight, and a link to the thread where the fight is taking place. 2. Fights can break out over anything you wish. 3. Fighting is much like hunting. Each character posts an attempted attack/defence and a mod will reply with whether it was successful. 4. You may back out of the fight at any time. It is advised to do so if your wolf is severely injured. 5. As above, wolves will become injured in a fight and if you are not careful, they may die. The eighth letter of the password is ‘q’. You will be warned if the damage is becoming fatal. 6. In the case of dominance battles, the challenger will assume the rank of the loser if victorious.

Breeding and Cubs
1. Graphical breeding is not allowed anywhere on WWM. You will be banned for this. 2. If you wish your character to have cubs, both characters’ profiles must be posted in the “Mating” board. More detail is stickied in the Mating board. 3. The Mating board is not an RP area; you should only post OOC content there. 4. Three days after each player has posted their characters’ stats, a moderator will post the stats of the litter. 5. Problems with the mother and cubs during or after birth may occur. More so in winter. You’ve been warned. 6. It is up to the players to decide who plays which pup. The nineth letter of the password is ‘h’. 7. If you do not wish to play one or any of the litter, you may post their stats in the “Adoption” board for another player to claim. You may decide who plays the cubs. 8. You MUST post full profiles for the pups you are going to play in the Become board. 9. Cubs age in respect to in-game years. They are a year old after four seasons have passed since birth. The tenth letter of the password is ‘4’. They are fully grown after eight seasons have passed since birth.

Adoption
1. If your character has a litter of pups and if neither you nor the other player wants to play one or more of them, you can put them up for adoption. 2. You can also put adult characters you no longer wish to play up for adoption. 3. Just post the character profiles or pup stats in a new thread and wait for other members to reply. 4. It is up to you to define the terms of adoption. Here are a few examples:
o First come first serve o Sample post, audition the character o Active members only can apply
5. If you adopt a character you must post a new profile form in the Become board making it clear who you adopted the character from.

Ghosts
1. Dead wolves may become ghosts, though they are considered “special characters”. 2. If you wish for one of your characters to become a ghost, or you wish to create a ghost character, please send your characters form, detailing why they are worthy of becoming a ghost to a staff member. 3. The “special character” process will then be followed, and you will be informed if you are allowed to play the character. 4. http://wwm3rpg.proboards39.com/index.cgi?board=afterlife&action=display&thread=1106704876]Read more on ghosts by clicking here.[/url]

Accounts
1. You can only have ONE account. Do not make one for each character, or make a new one if you get ‘bored’ of the old one. Staffs get unhappy if you make multiple accounts. 2. If you change your screen-name, please post in the “Update” board. Make sure you choose a screen-name that is short and sweet. The eleventh letter of the password is ‘k’. Don’t try and list all your characters in it, do that in your signature or the Location/Vacation board. 3. You must keep your email up to date to receive all the announcements. You will be sent these in a PM as well but should you become inactive, we need to contact you.

C-Box
1. There is a c-box located at the bottom of the main page. Isn’t it pretty? 2. Please use your WWM screen-name for the c-box to avoid confusion. 3. Do not use the c-box for the following:
o Spam, random rubbish basically. o Flooding, defined by more than five posts in a row. o Flaming. Bad-mouthing this site or any other and its members or staff will get you banned. Remember, we know who you are.
4. Do not try and impersonate anybody, we have access to your IP address and we can tell if you’re lying. 5. Try to refrain from bugging other people to post in your threads, though you may use it to draw attention to important threads.
