An earth-moving shudder came from the floor of the mountain. Stumbling slighty, her panting made it clear this wasn't going to be an easy journey. Deep down, near the core of the earth, a roar emitted and another earthquake-worthy movement shook the entire mountain range. A yelp sounded from her maw as it sent her balance off and she fell back. Picking herself up, she shook out her dusted-white-coat and carried on up, finding the easiest ledges. Previously romantic pink eyes had turned a sour red. She was definately in pain and her whole frame shook with the coping she was attempting. She felt a deep sense that the mountain called for her, that this was the place she should be to have her pups. She only wished the mountain would let her know where it wanted her.
Almost collapsing, the shuddering stopped and she fell to the floor with exhaustion. Finally, she could prepare herself properly.

Following at her heels, a black male clambered over rocks and ledges, following the winding paths that lead the pair up the treacherous peak. His white bib was equally dimmed with dust and grime from the climb, but still he padded onward. As another shudder shook the mountain, the wolf stumbled, catching himself before he could slip back. The shudder subsided to a rumble and faded, and the wolf rushed to steady his mate before she could fall too heavily. Licking her muzzle in reassurance, his concerned golden-yellow eyes met her pained gaze. "Is this the place?" He whispered, his hackles bristling defensively as he looked around. The landscape here was barren, only rock surrounded them, snow dusting shadows hidden from the sun. But there was life here, the Mountain thrummed with it. Magic.

She gave a light nod and growled slightly as a contraction told her of the arrivals soon to be. She gave a weak smile and clambered across to a more flat area. She was tired, so tired. Laying herself down with care, she rolled over to her side, chest heaving as another contraction made her tense completely. The thought of it being over soon was the thing that kept her from shutting her eyes and giving up completely.

The male followed her carefully to the flat shelf his mate had settled on, sniffing tentatively at the air. "Magic." He breathed, his gaze encompassing the female labouring before him and the majestic mountain rising above them. He felt the same spark of power in the mountain that he sensed in his mate. Both were immortal, both had been here since the beginning of their race. The Power was as old as time, and Kazza was about to experience the best of it, the Power of Life. He whined, golden eyes questioning White Magic. He licked her muzzle, speaking directly to her along their mental path. "Where would you like me to be?" He asked, gesturing at her side or to the cliff of the shelf where he could give her some privacy.

"With me," she replied in a breathless thought. She laid her head down and gave a short whimper. A contraction made her whole body tense. Seconds after, she relaxed and flicked an ear, sides still heaving and eyes still a painful red. A yelp signified the births wouldn't be long, but something told her that this wasn't going to be an easy birth, something that would alter the mountain forever would happen.

Kazza nodded, soothing his white muzzle over the shuddering bulge in her abdomen. The pain in her eyes troubled him. If only he could help her. He muzzled her neck gently, licking behind her ears. He murmured soft whispers of encouragement, intercepted by low soothing bass growls. He could feel the growing tension in the mountain, building with every minute of labour his mate endured. The effect was almost tangible, it made the air vibrate in his lungs, his heart quivered with... excitement? Anticipation? Fear? He didn't know. He focused on White Magic, licking her side, attempting to comfort her with his presence.

A pure white pup squirmed as he entered the world, an in-take of breath meant he was fighting fit, although he'd been the first to come out, there was something unusually strange about the aura of power he had about him. A terrifying power.
White Magic's yelp of pain sounded loud and clear across the range, the awkward birth of the first pup seemed to be a sign that would be the most pain. Panting, in time, three other pups were born. All holding a special glow around them as they lay, nuzzled to their mother's stomach.

Kazza watched in awe as the pups were born, golden eyes riveted to the scene. The now almost tangible sizzle of Power in the air caused Kazza's hair to stand to attention. It was still building, as if waiting for the dam to break and spill it free. Nuzzling his mate, Kazza gently cleaned her, licking each of his sons and daughters. He couldn't help but smile, the sight of the four alabaster white cubs suckling at Magic's teats. Their first meal. They were special, each glowed with an invisible aura. Kazza felt the difference of each one, and wondered what it would mean. He looked to Magic, licking her nose. "They're perfect. You're perfect" He muttered, cleaning her muzzle. "The mountain, the power is shifting." is gaze carried up to the peak, his quizzical expression showing his curiosity. He could feel the spark of power in the air, but what did it mean? Did White Magic know?

White Magic's cheek rested against the cold floor of the cave. Her sides slowly stopped heaving. The birth had been more difficult than her last but the pups seemed just as healthy and powerful as her three special daughters. Her eyelids lifted and soft pink eyes looked to her doting mate. A smile came over her maw and she rested a forepaw against his sturdy leg. I love you she thought to him, knowing he'd get it as easily as they'd always conversed before his voice returned. She closed her eyes again, knowing she'd be safe to rest. Her puppies had eaten and now slept comfortable next to her warm stomach.
A bark came from afar. She knew it all too well. Her daughters were on their way.

Kazza looked down on her, golden eyes soft. I love you too, he smiled, he words as clear in his eyes as in his mind. He nuzzled her cheek briefly, ears flicking at the sound of a far-off howl. Raising his broad head, he looked around. The Power surged, the air audibly crackling with the force of it. One white shape materialised, a glowing hue around it. Kazza stepped back to his mate's side, watching in awe. Taboo stepped out of the supernatural glow as two more shapes started to distinguish themselves.

White Magic lifted her head and rolled so she now rested on her forelegs, head carried high as she watched her daughters appear.
To the left of Taboo appeared a smaller yet bulkier female, a harsh expression always upon her features. To the right, an expressionless female appeared, taller than Gypsy but the same height as Taboo. Sheba gave a small smile at both of her sisters before all in sync they began walking forward. Each foot of theirs was synchronised, Taboo walking slightly in front of the other two. The image was powerful, majestic and unnerving, all in one.

Taboo spotted the pups first, her maw splitting in a wide beautiful smile. Sheba looked around, curious blue eyes noting the Power sparking in the air. She sniffed around, trying to analyse the sensation. Kazza's eyes widened, the charged air lifting his fur. The male shivered, glancing between the three powerful wolves. The dam was straining, the Power leached to the Mountain was breaking through.

A shudder in the earth awoke the pups with a cry. They all squirmed and snuggled closer to mother as new scents had come forward. They all looked the same but each pup felt different. A small smile crossed White Magic's maw as her eldest litter looked lovingly over her newest.
Even Gypsy let herself show a small smile of love. She sniffed each one and licked her lips, not showing signs of hunger but cherishing their newborn smell for that bit longer.

Kazza stepped back as the group crowded around. Mother, daughters and sons combined. He tried to step forward to join them but the Power made the air as thick as stone. He stood frozen, watching the Power cloud around the Mountain's family. The earth rumbled once more below them, and a nimbus of Power suddenly burst into being around the White Wolves. Their Power combined, the Mountain fed more into it, increasing the glow. Kazza closed his eyes against the blinding light, sure that every wolf in the land would be able to see the ball of white light perched high on the Mountain.

White Magic felt Kazza leave their circle of love but stayed united with her offspring. The surge of life that rose through their feet and rejuvenated their energy. A smile crossed each of their maws and even the pups gave a squeal of delight. The Mountain stopped quaking and all was still and silent. Any moment there would be an eruption of somesort. Only time would tell while each wolf's breath was held in waiting.
